Information on Fees
A substantial proportion of WEA classes in particular subject areas are free of charge.
For courses which are not free the WEA tries to keep its fees as low as possible so that its classes remain open and accessible to all. Therefore there is a three tier system:
1 FULL FEE - This fee should be paid by all students except those who fall into the categories below. Typical cost for a 10 week accredited course: £40 full fee
2 CONCESSIONARY FEE (OCCUPATIONAL PENSION) - This fee is for those who, in addition to receiving a state pension, are also in receipt of an occupational pension. Typical cost for a 10 week accredited course: £32 occupational pension concession
3 CONCESSIONARY FEE (STATE BENEFITS) - The largest concession is reserved for those who are wholly dependent upon state benefits, whether in the form of a state pension, unemployment benefit, disability allowance or student grant. Typical cost for a 10 week accredited course: £26 state benefit concession
