The WEA is always happy to receive applications from those interested in tutoring adults in a community setting.
- Applications are processed twice a year, in May and December.
- If your application demonstrates that you meet the basic criteria (see below) you will be contacted to have an informal meeting with some of our development staff to discuss your application more fully.
- Successful applicants will enter the WEA Tutor Pool. Details from the application form and records of subsequent history with the WEA will be stored in our Tutor Database.
- Tutors are expected to demonstrate commitment to their continuous professional development (CPD).
- The WEA offers only part-time tutoring and with variations in demand cannot guarantee regular tutoring opportunities for all in our database.
Key Criteria
- courses offered must be those found in the Course Search section of this website
- applicants must demonstrate that they have at least 20 hours of tutoring experience
- applicants wishing to deliver literacy or numeracy courses must comply with DEL's stipulations as outlined in the following document.
